Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for an Endoscopy position in Texas with a TX license and 2+ years of GI/Endo scrub and circulate experience. You will cover inpatient and outpatient Endoscopy units, perform scrub and circulate duties, and monitor sedation during procedures.

The role includes a 6:30 AM–3:00 PM day shift, on-call duties 6–8 days per month, weekend coverage, and hospital-based Cerner charting. Travel and housing support are provided.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years Endo experience with scrub and circulate.
• Skilled in conscious sedation administration and monitoring.
• Experience with airway management and recovery from MAC sedation.
• Proficient in specimen handling and labeling.
• Able to obtain 12 lead ECG and start/maintain IVs.
• Experience administering opioids, reversal agents, and Versed.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Endoscopy unit, covering both inpatient and outpatient endoscopy center settings.
• Day shift schedule, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM.
• On-call responsibilities of 6-8 days per month, including weekends.
• Assists with procedures including Sclerotherapy, TEE, EUS, ERCP, and esophageal ballooning.
• Performs scrub and circulate roles for Bronchoscopy, Colonoscopy, EGD, EBUS, EUS, ERCP, and esophageal varices/banding procedures.
• Uses equipment such as balloon dilators, bronchoscopy carts, electrosurgical units, ERBE, forceps, lithotripters, and polyp snares.
• Cerner charting system experience preferred.
• Responsible for pre- and post-procedure patient care including sedation monitoring and recovery.
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted.
• RTO must be submitted with consideration, and some holiday coverage is expected.
• On-site drug screen required upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with no exceptions for a positive result.
• Pending license accepted for initial consideration, but must be active before start date.
