Job summary

LAUKOA seeks four On-call Field Biologists to join our conservation and planning team. The role is part-time and involves nearly 100% travel across the United States with 40+ hours per week during peak season.

Compensation includes an hourly pay range and comprehensive benefits. Applicants should have at least five years of field experience in ecology or biology, a BS in a related field, and proficiency in field data collection, GPS, ArcGIS, and vegetation and wildlife surveys.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of full-time biological/ecological field experience.
• BS in ecology, biological sciences or related field.
• Ability to document important field findings accurately.
• Willingness to travel and work in inclement weather; field weeks during growing season.
• Experience with protocol surveys for special status species, especially avian and endangered plants.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys for wildlife, rare plants, and delineations (wetlands, streams).
• Perform presence/absence and protocol-level surveys for specialized species.
• Collect data using ESRI software and other tools; assist with QC and report writing.
• Provide GIS mapping support and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare findings sections of reports, figures, and photologs.
• Collaborate with project team, clients, and stakeholders.
