Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking four On-call Field Biologists to join our conservation and planning team. These part-time positions involve field surveys across the U.S., with heavy travel (40+ hours per week during peak seasons) and potential 2–3 weeks per month away from home.

Responsibilities include wildlife and plant surveys, wetland delineations, data collection using ESRI tools, and preparing reports. Per diem is provided; benefits and a flexible work environment are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of full-time biological/ecological field experience.
• BS in ecology, biological sciences or related field.
• Ability to document important field findings accurately.
• Willingness to work in inclement weather and rugged terrain.
• Must pass background check and drug test.
• Clean driving record and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct botanical, wildlife, pre-construction surveys for nesting birds and wetland delineations.
• Perform presence/absence and protocol surveys for specialized species; obtain permits as needed.
• Use ESRI tools for data collection, QC, and reporting.
• Prepare permitting packages, assist with GIS mapping and regulatory compliance.
• Support project planning, proposals, and client communications.
• Document findings in reports, figures, and photologs.
• Coordinate with team, clients, engineers, and government personnel.
