Job summary

LINX is hiring Fiber Specialists for a travel-based team that deploys to enterprise, hyperscale, and hyperscale data center builds across the country. If you can independently run ribbon and loose tube fusion splicing and validate your work against acceptance criteria on OTDR and OLTS, this role is built for you.

You’ll be on the leading edge of infrastructure buildout for AI and GPU cluster deployments, working with demanding fiber environments nationwide.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years hands-on fusion splicing experience.
• Ability to perform OTDR/OLTS/VFL testing to acceptance criteria.
• Read fiber drawings and rack elevations.
• Willingness to travel nationally on a continuous basis.
• Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Perform ribbon and loose-tube fusion splicing independently.
• Build and dress splice enclosures and FDFs.
• Install LIUs and MPO panels.
• Perform mid-span entries and ring cuts.
• Maintain fiber routing and cable management to spec.
• Perform OTDR, OLTS, optical power meter, and VFL testing.
• Validate results against customer criteria.
• Produce splice records and test packages.
• Update red lines and as-built documentation.
• Complete turnover documentation and conduct quality inspections.
• Read fiber drawings and rack elevations; develop material lists.
• Execute enterprise, hyperscale, and AI GPU fiber deployments; coordinate with customers.
• Lead small crews of 5+ fiber technicians; mentor developing splicers.
