Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER Registered Nurse for a night shift in North Carolina. An active NC or compact RN license and Epic EMR experience are required.

Responsibilities include ED care for adult and pediatric patients, with 1:4–5 patient ratios, on a 3x12 night schedule (7:00 PM–7:30 AM). Travel across campuses, no on-call, and housing/per diem benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Active NC or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience
• Epic charting system experience required
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration experience
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Shock/trauma care experience including gunshot wounds
• Pediatric emergency care experience including head injuries
• Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge

Responsibilities

• Emergency Department care for general adult/pediatric patients
• Patient ratios of about 1:4-5 depending on staffing and volume
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Weekend commitment: 2 weekends or 4 weekend days per 6 weeks
• Holiday coverage as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Travelers may be floated to any campus within the health system
• Epic EMR experience required
• Provide emergency care across general adult and pediatric populations
• Pass a compliance EKG exam with two attempts allowed
• Reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local rates
