Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a critical access hospital in Kansas. The role requires KS or compact licensure, trauma level IV experience, and Epic proficiency.

You will staff a 25-bed ED, treating adult and pediatric patients with ~20 visits daily, at a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. The night schedule is 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15). You must work every other weekend and may float between facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Active RN license - Kansas or compact license required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience required.
• Trauma Level IV experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Pending license accepted.

Responsibilities

• Critical access hospital with 25 total staffed beds.
• Emergency Department unit handling combined adult/pediatric patients.
• Approximately 20 patient visits per day with 7 rooms/beds.
• Patient ratio of 1:4 across all shifts.
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15).
• Required to work at least every other weekend.
• No on-call requirements.
• May be required to float to Anderson County Hospital and between departments/units/facilities as needed.
• Epic EMR system used for charting.
• Provide emergency care across a combined adult/pediatric patient population including cardiac monitoring and emergency response.
• Navy scrub color required.
• Free parking available.
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible (no local candidates accepted).
• Maximum RTO of 7 days permitted.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Returning staff must have a 3-month break in service after 18 months of prior employment.
• Permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• No travel partners accepted.
