Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department travel assignment in Washington. Requires 2+ years of ED experience and an active WA or compact RN license, with AHA ACLS/BLS in hand and NIHSS/PALS certifications.

TNCC preferred; Epic EMR experience is required. Responsibilities include treating mixed adult/pediatric patients in a Level II Trauma Center, with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, 3x12 hour evening shifts, and potential hospital-wide float.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license in hand.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications in hand.
• NIHSS and PALS certifications required; TNCC preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience; 5 years trauma facility preferred.
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Local candidates accepted; travel pairs accepted.

Responsibilities

• General Emergency Department treating mixed adult/pediatric patients in a Level II Trauma Center.
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Evening shift schedule of 3x12 hours (1500-0330).
• Floating within the hospital may be required based on patient care needs.
• STEMI and Stroke Certified facility.
• Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases.
• Complete required orientation modules, signed off by facility managers.
• Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted per assignment with no exceptions and no block scheduling allowed.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as non-local travelers.
• Travel pairs accepted.
• Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before being considered for rehire as a traveler.
• First-time travelers with multi-facility clinical experience will be considered.
