Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is hiring an experienced Emergency Room RN for a Level I trauma teaching hospital with Level II ED experience requirements and ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications. The role features 12-hour night shifts, a 36-hour week, and self-scheduling within a high-acuity ED.

The candidate should have an active RN license (AR or Compact) and hold BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC certs; CEN/TCRN are a plus. ESR/ED experience and stroke certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (AR or Compact) required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• CEN or TCRN certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in similar-paced, high-acuity ED setting required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Level II ED experience required
• Comprehensive Stroke Certification experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Level I trauma, teaching hospital Emergency Department with 35 main ED beds, 7 ACE spaces, 4 hallway spaces, and a 16-bed CDU
• Takes care of adult patients 18+ with high-acuity conditions including CVA, STEMI, SCC, and psychiatric cases
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4, adjusted for ICU-level care
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• Self-scheduling used to meet unit needs with varying rotation schedules
• Weekend requirement of every third weekend with no on-call responsibilities
• Holiday coverage required for 2 winter holidays and 1 summer holiday
• Uses Epic documentation system
• Specialized equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, EVD, Camino, transvenous pacers, chest tubes, art lines, and ventilators
• Respiratory therapy and anesthesia support available 24/7
• ECMO occasionally placed in the ED with dedicated staff support
• Provide primary nursing care within a high-acuity, comprehensive stroke-certified Emergency Department
• Perform high-risk cardiac GTT, mass transfusion protocols, TPA administration, and EKGs
• Work alongside APRNs on the unit from 9am-9pm and CNA/PCT support available on all shifts
• 3-6 days of orientation provided
• Dress code includes royal blue scrubs per policy and closed-toe shoes per policy
• Floating not required for this position
• No charge nurse responsibilities required
• Prior travel experience not required, making this position open to first-time travelers
