Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel ER RN for a 13-week assignment in Newton, IA. You will provide rapid-response, high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced ED, triaging patients, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as an ER RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• Current PALS (AHA / ARC) or ENPC Certification

Responsibilities

• Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity
• Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per emergency nursing protocols
• Prepare equipment and aid physicians during emergency treatments and examinations
• Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout the ED stay and respond to needs
• Observe and document patient conditions within scope of practice
• Take and monitor vital signs and address deviations
• Respond to life-saving situations per standards and protocols
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EMR
• Initiate patient education plans according to needs
• Collaborate with physicians, paramedics, social workers and staff to ensure comprehensive care
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
