Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled ER RN for a 16-week travel assignment in Middlebury, VT. The ER RN delivers rapid-response, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department, collaborating with physicians and support staff to ensure patient safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have ER experience, state RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS/ENPC, with additional certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
• The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
• Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend.
• Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel to present a positive attitude and professionalism.
• Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
• Mental Requirements - Must cope with frequent contact with the public and work under pressure, may work with limited supervision.
• Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and effective communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity.
• Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per emergency protocols.
• Prepare equipment and aid physicians during emergency treatments and examinations.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout their time in the ED.
• Observe and document patient conditions within scope of practice.
• Take and monitor vital signs with clinical judgment to address deviations.
• Respond to life-saving situations per nursing standards, policies, and protocols.
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EMR.
• Initiate patient education plans according to acute needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
• Adhere to safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
