Qualifications

• Education: ASN/BSN accepted.
• Licensure: active RN license (state of assignment).
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC or TNCC (TNCC required or proof of class with date applied); NIHSS required prior to start; NRP preferred.
• Experience: minimum 2 years in-unit clinical experience; at least 2 years in the ED or relevant specialty; travel experience required (one travel assignment suffices); EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years; charge nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ED for a wide age range, including initial assessment, triage, and ongoing monitoring.
• Administer medications and IV therapies, manage drips/infusions, and perform procedures as ordered; monitor responses and adjust care as needed.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, IV placement, wound care, and other bedside procedures; support rapid assessment and emergency stabilization.
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR; coordinate care with ED physicians, techs, and ancillary staff.
• Collaborate with the ED team and float to Med-Surg/Tele as needed to maintain patient flow and safe assignments (approx. 1:5 ratio).
• Participate in precepting or mentoring as needed and respond to codes or high-acuity events per unit protocols.
