Job summary

Healthforce seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for a 13-week ER assignment in Tehachapi, CA. Evening, 12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week. Start date November 2, 2026. The role focuses on direct patient care, interprofessional collaboration, and safe, efficient ED operations.

The ideal candidate holds a California RN license, has ED or acute-care experience, and can work the necessary evening schedule with flexibility to meet assignment requirements.

Qualifications

• Active California registered nurse license in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN).
• Experience in emergency department or acute-care settings preferred.
• Ability to work evenings and 12-hour shifts; 36 hours per week; flexibility to meet assignment requirements.
• Capable of functioning in a fast-paced ER environment with strong assessment and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients in the ER according to established standards and the nursing process.
• Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines; exercise critical thinking and professional judgment.
• Assess patient condition, monitor status, administer medications and treatments as ordered, and document responses and outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to implement and adjust care plans; participate in care conferences and discharge planning.
• Ensure patient safety, infection control, and provide patient and family education as appropriate.
