Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department travel assignment in Maine. The role requires 2–5 years of ED/critical care experience and at least 1 year of travel nursing experience, with active Maine or Compact RN licensure and EPIC EMR proficiency.

The position features a 36-hour night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), no on-call duties, and a 13-week contract with some local travel considerations. Strong teamwork and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Maine or Compact) required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, and NIHSS.
• 2 to 5 years of Emergency Department/Critical Care experience required.
• Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience required.
• EPIC EMR experience required.
• Driver's license required for consideration.
• 2 professional references required.
• Strong communication, documentation, and team collaboration skills required.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Department setting at a Joint Commission Certified Stroke Center.
• 36-hour night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Every other weekend and holiday requirement.
• Patient ratios of 4:1 to 5:1.
• Unit includes future 20 beds, 3 locked behavioral health beds, 3 medical/psych swing beds, and 2 triage rooms.
• Unit currently under construction requiring flexibility with workflow changes.
• Uses EPIC EMR.
• No on-call requirements.
• 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed.
• Provide emergency and critical care nursing within a team-oriented environment requiring flexibility and strong communication.
• Scrubs must be a solid color and professional attire is required at all times.
• Candidates located within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local and are not eligible for renewals or extensions.
• RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract at the manager's discretion.
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during consideration.
• Air pods, laptops, and cell phone use are prohibited while on the unit.
