Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 12-hour night shift at a rural Critical Access Hospital in Vermont. The role requires full emergency certifications and travel experience.

Expect a 36-hour week, 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, and continuous support from ED staff and telemetry resources. Candidates must hold an active VT or Compact RN license and certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC, NRP, NIHSS, TNCC); NIHSS must be completed before start.

Qualifications

• Active VT or compact RN license required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC, NRP, NIHSS, TNCC.
• NIHSS certification required prior to start; TNCC enrollment proof if not yet completed.
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience; prior travel assignment preferred.
• Epic experience within past 2 years required.

Responsibilities

• Perform ED care for neonatal to geriatric patients in a rural critical access hospital.
• Provide ESI triage, IV insertion, drips/infusions, EKGs, and restraint application.
• Coordinate ambulatory transports and ED-related nursing duties as needed.
• Precept new nurses and assist with ambulance transports when required.
• Maintain documentation in Epic and ensure patient safety 24/7.
