Job summary

NurseStar Medical Partners LLC in Iowa is seeking a Paramedic/EMT for a 13-week assignment starting ASAP. You will cover 3×12 hour night shifts, from 7pm to 7am, with some PRN days, handling 911 calls and hospital transfers to University of Iowa, and assisting in the Emergency Department as a CNA when not on ambulance call.

Epic EMR is used; ACLS and PALS are required; an Iowa state license (compact) is needed.

Qualifications

• EMT or Paramedic license in Iowa (compact).
• ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• Experience with EMS calls and hospital transfers helpful.
• ED CNA experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Respond to 911 calls and transfer patients to UI Hospitals.
• Assist in the Emergency Department as a CNA when not on ambulance duty.
• Work 3×12 hour night shifts, 7pm–7am, with occasional PRN shifts.

Pay Rate:

• EMT: $1,700-$1,900 Gross every week

• Sporadic PRN shifts when needed for other days

Additional Details:

• Typically 2-5 calls/day
• Can vary and be higher, had 10 yesterday but that’s uncommon

REQUIREMENTS

• 911 calls, transfers for Ambulance Service to hospital at University of Iowa, majority low acuity calls. County EMS department
• When not working in ambulance, work as CNA in the Emergency Department helping with patients.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Paramedics need ACLS and PALS

LICENSURE REQUIREMENT

• Iowa state license, EMT/Paramedic is compact
