Compensation ranges, including differentials (weekday evenings, overnights, weekend days, weekend evenings, and Weekend overnights) by shift :

  • Days : $60.00-70.00 / hr
  • Evenings : $65-$75.00 / hr
  • Nights : $68.00-$78.00 / hr
  • Weekend Days : $64.00-$74.00 / hr

  • Weekend Nights : $72.00 / hr-$82.00 / hr

Mass General Brigham is looking for Registered Nurses to join our Internal Resource Pool (IRP). The IRP will allow RNs flexibility in scheduling short- or long-term assignments within our Mass General Brigham Hospitals at a premium rate of pay. All positions will be placed in inpatient or long term care units. This is an exciting opportunity for Nurses that are:

General summary / overview statement

The clinical nurse is a licensed registered nurse who is responsible for assuring competent, compassionate, individualized, nursing care for specific patients and families, including delegation to and supervision of non-professional clinical and support staff. The clinical nurse is responsible and accountable for the overall nursing care management of a designated group of patients. They collaborate with the Nursing Director and members of the Patient Care Team to achieve efficient patient outcomes. They also collaborate with the patient toward meeting the needs and expectations of the patient and family. Clinical nurses ensure that care is safe, efficient, effective, timely and meets the cultural, spiritual, and ethnic needs of each patient and family.

Principal duties and responsibilities
  1. Provides competent, compassionate patient- and family-centered nursing care based on scientific principles and the use of the nursing process and interdisciplinary teamwork.
  2. Documents relevant patient data / information.
  3. Communicates the plan of care and other pertinent information to / from other health care team members. Promotes continuity of care through effective hand-offs.
  4. Helps define standards of excellence for patient care; participates in improvement of patient care services in a cost-effective way.
  5. Performs specific functions as described in the unit Scope of Service.
  6. Provides care appropriate to age group of patients on assigned unit(s) as described in relevant unit Scope of Service.
  7. Participates in, and contributes to, performance improvement activities.
  8. Integrates the six aims of performance improvement into care delivery: Safety, Effectiveness, Patient Centeredness, Timeliness, Efficiency, Equity.
  9. Exhibits compliance with regulatory and quality and safety requirements.

Collaborates with other professionals and directs support staff and nonprofessional nursing personnel in maintaining recognized standards

  1. Teaches and advises all nonprofessional nursing personnel for whom they is responsible.
  2. Participates in orientation of new permanent and temporary staff members.
  3. A. Appropriately uses nursing resources.
  4. Interprets hospital and departmental policies and procedures to nurses and other health team members

Participates in daily operational activities necessary for safe patient / staff environment.

  • Utilizes resources efficiently to facilitate optimal patient care.
  • Provides input to the Nursing Director / nurse leader regarding unit needs.
  • Participates in unit and departmental committees for formulation of nursing and hospital policies and procedures.
  • d) Professional Development :
  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills based on current nursing education practices.
  • Adheres to Department of Nursing requirements for required training.
  • Identifies specific learning needs and goals and develops a plan to meet them.
  • Contributes to relevant committees, professional meetings, continuing educational and / or formal academic programs.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, and / or REGISTRATIONS (if applicable) :

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Specialty certification preferred.
