A leading healthcare facility is seeking a Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse who will be responsible for providing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced environment. This 13-week position requires flexible night shifts and offers competitive weekly pay. Qualifications
- At least 2+ years of Emergency Department RN experience required.
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and TNCC certifications must be current.
- Must be able to work night shifts and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Serve patients in the ER, ensuring quick triage and assessment.
- Perform clinical skills including IV placement, splinting, and wound care.
- Float to other departments as needed, assisting as required.

- Travel ER RN position starting ASAP with a 13-week duration.
- Shift is nights from 6pm to 6am with weekends required.
- Must have at least 2+ years of ED RN experience and 1+ year of travel experience.
- Responsible for serving patients of all ages presenting to the ER, including neonates to elderly.
- Expected to handle patients from ESI level 1-5 with a 4-5:1 patient ratio.
- Must be able to care for stroke, STEMI, trauma, and sepsis patients.
- Must triage and assess patients quickly and work as part of a team.
- Perform clinical skills including PIV, NG/OG tubes, foleys, splinting, wound care, US guided IV, assist with art line, central line, and chest tube placement.
- Answer call lights and transport patients as needed.
- Board psych patients in ER until placement is found; make calls for psych patient placement on nights and weekends.
- Willingness to float to other departments if not needed in ED; average float is 1 shift per 13-week period.
- Use EMR system EDIS Medhost and Omnicell medication dispensing; no barcode medication administration currently.
- Mix some medication drips with vial to bag adapter on night shift.
- Responsible for EMTALA paperwork per hospital policies.

- ER RNs perform triage, PIV, port access/deaccess, foley placement, NG/OG placement, wound care, splint/OCL application.
- Preferred skill: US guided IV.
- ER RNs assist with art line, central line, and chest tube placement.
- Responsible for EMTALA paperwork.
- Float to other departments as needed; average float is 1 shift per 13 weeks.
- Facility is designated as Level III trauma center.
- Accredited as ACC Chest Pain/STEMI center.
- Joint Commission Acute Ready Stroke Center designation.
- Facility size: 93 beds.
- ER unit has 11 beds.
- Monthly department volume approximately 1100 patients.
