Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department role in Arizona. The position requires 2+ years of ED experience and an active AZ or compact RN license, with ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications. Day shifts are 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, with 3x12s and weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (AZ or Compact) currently in hand.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC (ESI preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required.
• Experience with pediatric and adult emergency patients including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric conditions.
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of emergency medications.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, and dysrhythmia management.
• Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE.
• Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before returning as travelers.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department with floating between ED and the CDU (Observation Unit).
• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients.
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM.
• Meditech charting system used, experience preferred but not required.
• Orientation held every Monday.
• Every other weekend required.
• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and psychiatric cases.
• Perform triage and apply isolation precautions/PPE as needed.
• Assist with procedures such as splinting, chest tube management, and procedural sedation monitoring.
• Holiday coverage required.
• RTO should be kept to a minimum due to blocked scheduling limitations.
• Orientation includes non-billable modules.
• First-time travelers accepted if they have more than 2 years of ED experience.
• Travel pairs are accepted.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
