Assume responsibility for a group of patients utilizing the nursing process and incorporating current trends and technology within the institution's philosophy.

Essential Functions

Perform responsibilities and duties specific to the unit's scope of service.
Implement procedures and theories related to the area of practice.
Complete initial assessments upon patient admission and develop appropriate care plans according to unit standards and patient and family needs.
Implement and modify plans of care based on continuous evaluation.
Promote patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting safety hazards and incidents.
Communicate effectively with others to resolve issues when necessary.
Provide constructive feedback for the professional development of peers and consult with colleagues to expand knowledge.
Identify learning needs and take initiative for appropriate solutions.
Fulfill departmental competency requirements.
