Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Emergency Department RN for a night shift in Maryland. Requires active MD or Compact RN license and 1–2 years ED experience; BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, NIHSS certifications; epic charting experience preferred.

You will work 3x12-hour nights (19:00–07:30) in a 47-bed community hospital with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, floating as needed and some weekends/holidays. Travel housing and licensure reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active MD or Compact RN license required at time of consideration.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA only).
• CPI certification required.
• NIHSS certification required.
• 1–2 years of Emergency Department experience required.
• Community hospital experience required.
• Experience with 1:4 patient ratios preferred.
• Skilled in pediatric and adult emergency care across a broad range of diagnoses and conditions.

Responsibilities

• Fast-paced community hospital Emergency Department with 47 beds and an average daily census of 130.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4.
• Treats patients of all ages with a wide range of diagnoses.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30), with 36/48 hour options.
• Every other weekend required, holiday coverage as scheduled.
• Floating required within specialty, travelers prioritized to float.
• Epic charting system preferred.
• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of populations and acuities.
• Collaborate with the ED care team in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Candidates must be comfortable floating within scope without restrictions.
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted unless specified.
