American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry/ED Holds travel assignment in Chandler, AZ. Work 12-hour nights, 36 hours/week in ED holds/telemetry with strong cardiac care skills and an active AZ or compact RN license.

You will float to related units as needed, support from ED charge nurse, and use Cerner for charting. Must have a recent telemetry background and relevant certifications.

• Minimum of 2 years recent telemetry experience (within past 6 months).
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently.

Responsabilidades

• Care for ED holds patients on telemetry/tele unit, 1:4 nurse–patient ratio.
• Monitor and care for telemetry patients awaiting inpatient placement.
• Read telemetry strips and titrate cardiac drips per orders.
• Rotate across ED holds, med/surg, tele, and overflow as needed.
• 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a) with weekend coverage as scheduled.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry/ED Holds position requiring strong telemetry skills and an active AZ or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in an acute care setting on the ED Holds/Tele unit
• Care for patients from the emergency department awaiting inpatient placement, primarily telemetry and medical-surgical cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4
• No ventilator patients; frequent use of titratable cardiac drips (Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone)
• Nurses are responsible for reading and interpreting telemetry strips as there are no monitor techs
• 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Must work 2 of the 4 major holidays during contract period
• First to float to med/surg/tele/overflow units and both primary and secondary campus EDs as needed
• Cerner is used for electronic charting
• Responsibilities include monitoring and caring for ED hold patients, decreasing cardiac drips, performing vital signs, IV starts, and medication administration as needed
• Will not serve as the primary RN for new ED patient assignments
• Support available from ED charge nurse and PCTs
• Two-shift orientation to Med/Surg/Tele at the primary campus provided
• Holiday coverage rotates with permanent staff
• First-time travelers and MS/Tele travelers welcome to apply
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility for travel eligibility if in AZ, NV, NE, IA, or MN

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of application
• Minimum of 2 years recent telemetry experience (within the past 6 months), with strong cardiac background
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA or APEX) certifications required
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam via RELIAS within 48 hours of offer (maximum 2 attempts)
• Successful completion of a pass/fail SIM lab on orientation day
• Ability to titrate cardiac drips per physician orders
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Driver’s license required for consideration
• Not eligible if employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities within the past year (PRN through agency excepted)
