American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry Float Pool RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Chandler, AZ. The role features 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, and a requirement to float across Telemetry, Neuro, Cardiac Tele, MedSurg, and observation units.

Active AZ/compact RN license, 2+ years inpatient RN experience, and critical care certifications are required. Travel reimbursements and comprehensive benefits are included, with a pay package of $2,185 per week before taxes.

• May not have been employed by CHI or Dignity in the past year.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Telemetry RN for a float pool position requiring strong cardiac drip titration skills and flexibility to float between multiple acute care units.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital environment within the Telemetry Float Pool
• Float between Telemetry, Neuro, Cardiac Tele, MedSurg, observation, and holding areas across Chandler and Mercy Gilbert campuses
• Shifts are 12 hours, 7-7, nights, with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule and a requirement to work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Patient ratios are typically 1:3-4 in Telemetry and Neuro units and 1:4 in MedSurg units
• Centralized telemetry monitoring with the need to interpret EKGs
• Use of Cerner for EMR charting, experience preferred
• Must be the first to float within the staffing pool, including mid-shift floating
• No pediatric patients; care for adults and adolescents aged 15 and older
• Responsible for caring for a mixed patient population, including post-cath lab, vascular, neuro, surgical, ortho, and oncology patients
• Care settings include observation units, MedSurg, and all Telemetry units; may float to ICU or Cath Lab holding areas as skill allows
• Two-day floor orientation provided per unit assignment
• Scrub color required is navy blue
• Must provide coverage during major holidays as scheduled
• 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient RN experience
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Ability to titrate cardiac drips including Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, and Dobutamine
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to contract signing (maximum 2 attempts)
• Pass/fail simulation lab required on orientation day
• References required from one recent supervisor (last 12 months) and one supervisor or peer (last 3 years)
• Copy of driver’s license required
• May not have been employed by CommonSpirit (CHI, Dignity) in the past year
