Job summary

Premiere Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Travel ED Charge Nurse to support an Emergency Department team in Lewiston, Maine on a 12-week assignment.

The role focuses on overseeing ED operations, staffing, and delivering safe, high-quality patient care while coordinating admissions, transfers and discharges. You will supervise and coach staff, contribute to performance management, and ensure unit readiness.

Qualifications

Current and valid state RN License.
Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
Current ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting, E.D. setting required.
PALS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
Previous supervisory experience, required.

Responsibilities

Oversees ED operations and nursing staff during assigned shifts. Ensures safe, high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance.
Manages staffing, scheduling, and patient assignments.
Supervises, coaches, and supports staff development.
Assists with performance management and HR-related activities.
Monitors supplies, equipment, and unit readiness. Coordinates patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Addresses patient care concerns and escalates issues as needed.
Rounds with patients and families to support a positive experience.
Provides direct patient care when needed to maintain safe staffing levels.
