Job summary

Premiere Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Travel ED Charge Nurse to support the Lewiston, ME ED in a 12-week assignment within the Emergency Services department. Shifts include Days and Nights, with oversight of operations and staffing to maintain high-quality care.

You will coordinate patient flow, supervise staff, and provide direct patient care as needed. Competitive weekly pay includes a $3/hour differential and weekly pay schedule.

Qualifications

• RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS required or maintain current.
• Minimum 1 year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital ED setting.
• Supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees ED operations and nursing staff during assigned shifts, ensuring safe, high-quality care and regulatory compliance.
• Manages staffing, scheduling, and patient assignments.
• Supervises, coaches, and supports staff development.
• Assists with performance management and HR-related activities.
• Monitors supplies, equipment, and unit readiness; coordinates patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Addresses patient care concerns and escalates issues as needed.
• Rounds with patients and families to support a positive experience.
• Provides direct patient care when needed to maintain safe staffing levels.
