Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with at least 3 years of echocardiography experience and current RDCS or CCI certification. The position is full-time in the Echocardiography department in Illinois, with a Monday-Friday, 8-hour day schedule, 40 hours per week.

Weekend shifts rotate, and holiday coverage is negotiable. The candidate must have an Associate's Degree in Ultrasound, current BLS, a license if applicable, and Epic charting experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Echo Tech experience required.
• Associate's Degree in Ultrasound required.
• Current RDCS (ARDMS) or CCI certification required.
• Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association).
• License required if applicable.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow.

Responsibilities

• Full-time position in the Echocardiography department.
• Monday-Friday schedule with 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week.
• Weekend shifts required on a rotational basis.
• Holiday coverage is negotiable.
• No floating required.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Oversees technical procedures, patient care, and workflows in the echocardiography lab.
• Performs routine and complex echocardiographic sonography imaging procedures following departmental guidelines.
• Critiques positioning, technical factors, and alignment to maintain acceptable imaging quality standards.
• Reviews patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
• Documents findings accurately and completely.
• Cross-trains to other divisions of Cardiovascular Services.
• Assists performing physicians and sonographers in providing high-quality echocardiographic exams.
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered.
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract.
• Contingent workers may not be on assignment for more than 1 year continuously at this facility before requiring a 6-month break in service.
