Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an Echocardiographer with at least 1 year of echo experience and RDCS/RCS certification for a 13-week assignment at a critical-access hospital in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. Responsibilities include performing transthoracic echocardiograms, limited studies, contrast studies, and bubble studies for a variety of patients while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Travel and orientation considerations apply; Vermont location offers community atmosphere and outdoor

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography, Echocardiography, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • RDCS certification through ARDMS or RCS certification through CCI required.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of echocardiography experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of overall experience required.
  • Prior travel assignment experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, pathology, Doppler principles, and echocardiographic imaging techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnostic Imaging department at a community-focused critical access hospital.
  • Perform transthoracic echocardiograms, limited studies, contrast studies, and bubble studies for inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and surgical patients.
  • Monday through Friday schedule with four 8-hour day shifts per week.
  • 13-week assignment.
  • Travelers will start on a Wednesday, and during orientation week those on a 48-hour contract will only be guaranteed 36 hours due to the midweek start.
  • Produce accurate cardiac measurements and diagnostic-quality images for cardiologist interpretation while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Use clinical judgment to evaluate patient history, optimize imaging, recognize significant abnormalities, and communicate urgent findings.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and surgical settings.
  • Work independently while maintaining strong collaborative relationships with physicians and care teams.
  • Located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, offering year-round outdoor recreation and a welcoming community atmosphere.
