Job summary

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel CVOR Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Saint Augustine, Florida. The role involves supporting open heart procedures in the CVOR and floating to the main OR as needed, with 12-hour days and a 36-hour minimum per week.

Given the travel nature, candidates must have NBSTSA/NCCT/AST certification within 1 year, BLS, CVOR experience, and EPIC EMR. The facility expects rapid call responses and weekend coverage, with housing options and full benefits

Qualifications

• Certification: NBSTSA, NCCT, or AST within 1 year of hire/transfer.
• Certification: BLS (AHA or American Red Cross).
• Education: High School Diploma or GED; graduate of surgical technologist program.
• Experience: At least 2 years of surgical technologist experience; CVOR surgical technologist experience; travel experience; experience in academic or teaching facility; no gaps in clinical employment longer than 30 days without explanation.
• Skills: Recent heart experience required; vascular/neuro experience a plus; strong cardiac experience highly preferred; flexibility required; ability to work in CVOR and float to main OR as needed; ability to respond within 45 minutes for call, with weekend call coverage.
• Documentation of facility type, EMR (EPIC required), bed count, and at least 1 reference within past 12 months

Responsibilities

• Support open heart surgeries in CVOR and main OR as needed.
• Participate in 12-hour day shifts; be on-call as required; ensure staffing coverage.
• Float to main OR as needed and respond quickly to call requirements.
