Job summary

MedPro Healthcare Allied Staffing seeks a travel CVOR Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Abilene, Texas. The role offers 40 hours per week with 8-hour days and hospital-based duties in the Cardiovascular Operating Room.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program (or with equivalent experience), hold current CPR, and have CVOR experience including CABG procedures. Travel, housing allowance, and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or 3 years recent experience as a surgical technician in an acute care setting.
• Current CPR provider card.
• Minimum 18 months CVOR experience or CVOR-specific orientation.
• Knowledge of CVOR instrumentation for cardiac procedures.
• CABG and cardiac procedures experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments per protocols.
• Functions proficiently in scrubbing, 2nd circulating, and 3rd person/Heart Holder roles of the CVOR.
• Picks supplies for surgeries, sets up instruments and scrubs for surgical procedure, and performs instrument and sponge count accurately.
• Obtain specimens, hand over to circulating nurse and verifies location.
• Facilitates room turnover time.
• Participates in department on-call schedule.
