Job summary

Wellspring Nurse Source in Charleston, West Virginia is seeking a travel CVOR Technologist for a 13-week assignment. The role involves supporting cardiovascular and general surgeries, scrubbing and circulating, and ensuring sterile, well-documented care in a fast-paced OR.

Shifts are 3x12 hours (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) with occasional on-call weeknights and one weekend per month. NBSTSA and BLS certifications are required, with a minimum of two years CVOR experience.

Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician with experience in cardiovascular and general surgery. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, providing support in surgical procedures, and ensuring optimal patient care.

Shift Details

• Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• On-call duty: Occasional weeknight coverage and one weekend per month

Unit Description

The unit consists of 14 operating rooms, with an average daily census of 25 cases. Technicians will be required to scrub, circulate, and document equipment used during surgeries.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiovascular operating rooms.
• Proficient in scrub and circulatory roles for the following procedures:
  • Required: Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Carotid Endarterectomy, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, Mitral Valve Replacement, Pericardial Window
  • Preferred: Atherectomy, Atrial Septal Defect Repair, Cardiomyoplasty, Femoral Popliteal Bypass Graft, Robotic Assisted Cardiac Surgery, TAVR, VAD
• Experience in General, Endoscopic/Laparoscopic, and Thoracic surgeries is required.
• Experience in Vascular, Urology, Orthopedic/Total Joint surgeries is preferred.

Certification and Training Requirements

• National Certification: NBSTSA required.
• BLS certification required.

Additional Information

• No floating is required between units.
• Special equipment used includes OR tables, yellow fin stirrups, battery-operated equipment, and positioning aids.
