Job Summary:

Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) professional position located in a healthcare facility. This contract role involves performing cardiovascular surgeries, with a focus on open-heart procedures, within a dynamic surgical environment. The position is designed for an adaptable and teamwork-oriented provider capable of managing complex cases and on-call responsibilities.

Job Details:

• Location: Heart Hospital of Austin, 1st Floor, Main Hospital
• Discipline: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Target Start Date: 10/19/2026
• Shift: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (10:00 AM - 8:00 PM)
• Schedule: 40 hours per week minimum
• Call Requirements: On call one weeknight per week and one weekend per month; weekends are included in on call rotation
• Required Qualifications: Certification as a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) CST; excellent cardiovascular surgical experience; flexible schedule; ability to work in a high-pressure environment; minimum of 1 year experience in cardiac surgery setting; location independent
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with PCI, CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, TMVR, MitraClip procedures; strong teamwork and communication skills
• Additional Information: The unit performs advanced cardiovascular procedures including CABG, Aortic/Mitral Valve repairs and replacements, AAA Endovascular & Open surgeries, AV Fistula creation/revision/thrombectomy, and more. Equipment includes surgical instruments, Bovie cautery, EVH video towers, laparoscopic systems, and patient warming/cooling systems. The team values punctuality, professionalism, and a collaborative attitude. Scrubs are provided, with specified scrub color policies. The department promotes technological advancements and values staff tenure and skill.
