Job summary

Newsandtribune in Macon area is seeking a CVOR Surgical Technologist with cardiovascular surgery experience for a hospital operating room position. Open to first-time travelers.

Responsibilities include 4x10-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM, supporting CV/Thoracic, general, ortho, neuro/spine, urology, robotics, and endoscopic cases. Travel and local candidates considered; extensive credentialing and labs required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience.
• BLS certification required.
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• Experience with CV procedures such as CABG, TAVR, and aneurysm repair preferred.
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Level I trauma experience preferred.
• License required if applicable.
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) highly preferred for consideration.

Responsibilities

• 4x10-hour day shifts, 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM.
• Handles a wide range of surgical specialties including CV/Thoracic, general, ortho, neuro/spine, urology, robotics, and endoscopic procedures.
• Call requirement of up to 12 days per month, including every other weekend.
• Floating required within facility scope of practice and to an additional nearby hospital as needed.
• 20-week assignment length.
• Perform aseptic technique, instrument processing, and sterilization/disinfection duties.
• Participate in Universal Protocol (time out) procedures and maintain isolation precautions/PPE standards.
• Assist with sterile processing including assembly, wrap, and scope/probe reprocessing.
• Support surgical procedures across multiple specialties including vascular, GYN, ortho, neuro, and robotics.
• Da Vinci Xi Surgical System experience relevant to robotic case coverage.
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position.
• Locum/local candidates accepted at the same bill rate.
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of submission.
• No RTO permitted during orientation week.
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period.
• Full compliance required to start on time, including required labs and documentation.
• Prior Piedmont employees or travelers must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler.
• Travelers previously not returned to a facility must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont before rebooking.
