Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN CVOR for a travel nursing job in Louisville, Kentucky. The CVOR RN provides direct and indirect nursing care during the surgical procedure, collaborates with surgeons and the surgical team to ensure patient safety, equipment readiness, and skilled post‑operative handoffs.

Start ASAP for an anticipated 13‑week assignment with 40 hours weekly in a day shift.

Qualifications

One year of recent experience as a CVOR RN
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) certification

Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect nursing care to assigned patients throughout the surgical procedure and post-surgical handoff
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists and the surgical team to deliver coordinated care
Prepare the Cardiovascular operating room, assemble equipment, supplies, medications and implants
Ensure sterile technique and proper positioning/draping for patient safety and optimal exposure
Adhere to Universal Protocol and timeouts for patient identification and procedure verification
Handle specimens accurately and document appropriately to maintain diagnostic integrity
Respond to intraoperative emergencies such as cardiac arrest and provide post‑operative coordination
