Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse CVOR RN for a Columbus, Ohio assignment. This 13-week travel position offers 36 hours per week, with 12-hour night shifts, and a tax-free stipend to be determined.

Responsibilities include assessing and planning perioperative care, assisting during procedures, maintaining aseptic technique, and coordinating OR operations. Requirements: BLS and NIH certifications and at least 3 years of CVOR experience.

Qualifications

• Active BLS certification required.
• NIH certification or equivalent may be required.
• Minimum 3 years CVOR or surgical RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and evaluate nursing care before, during and after a surgical procedure.
• Participate in the care of patients receiving conscious sedation.
• Administer prescribed medications, apply dressings, monitor vital signs.
• Assist physician during procedures.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and actively monitor situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.
• Coordinate the operating room with respect to sterility, cleanliness, availability of functioning equipment and supplies.
• Ensure the proper handling of specimens.
• Stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Lift up to 20 pounds easily; may require lifting of patients up to 50 pounds at times.
• Possess good skills for coping with stress and be able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
