Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) night shift position in New Haven, CT. The role requires 3+ years in cardiac ICU and a CT or compact RN license, with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. Expect 4x12 hour nights, 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, and weekend coverage.

Paid travel and licensure reimbursements are included. Flu and COVID-19 vaccines are required, with time-off policies as stated.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of cardiac ICU experience required.
• At least 1 year of Level I trauma center experience required.
• Active CT or compact RN license.
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale certifications.
• Proficiency with Swan-Ganz catheter monitoring.
• Flu vaccine required.
• COVID-19 vaccine and booster required unless exempt.
• No local candidates within 75 miles.

Responsibilities

• Work in CVICU with high-acuity cardiac patients.
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratio 1:2 on days and nights.
• Work 4x12 hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:00.
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend.
• Use Epic for charting and documentation.
• May float within scope to meet facility needs.
• Provide advanced cardiac care and monitor critically ill CVICU patients.
• Travelers welcome with qualifying experience.
• Reimbursements for travel and licensure per policy.
