Qualifications

• Eighteen months prior experience in a health care setting as a CT Tech
• ARRT (CT) or ASRT certification
• Most states require licensure
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Position CT technologists to operate CT equipment and produce diagnostic cross-sectional images
• Position patients for CT scans with immobilization and protective equipment as needed
• Set controls, monitor equipment, and adjust as necessary for patient safety and image quality
• Assist radiologist with imaging procedures, IV starts, and contrast administration if applicable
• Deliver oral contrast to patients for CT scans
• Support radiologist during interventional CT procedures
• Evaluate CT scans for technical quality and label images appropriately
• Schedule patients for procedures and assist with clerical tasks
• Charge procedures and supplies to patient records
• Operate power injections for contrast media administration
• Maintain a safe, patient-focused environment emphasizing timely, compassionate care
• Provide ongoing support to ensure quality patient care and safety
