Job Description

The Cat Scan Technologist performs advanced CT procedures, generating both sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation. This role also assists with interventional and therapeutic procedures, ensuring patient safety and care throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex CT procedures and utilize professional judgment in obtaining and documenting patient clinical histories.
• Review and prepare patients for procedures, including administering appropriate contrast media as prescribed.
• Verify prescriptions for exams, communicate with Radiologists and Referring Physicians for clarifications when needed.
• Ensure accuracy in the contrast questionnaire and document in the EPIC system.
• Obtain outside studies and manage their integration into the PACS system for Radiologist comparison.
• Provide thorough explanations to patients regarding procedures and address any queries effectively.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions during procedures and perform venipuncture, IV maintenance as required.
• Maintain compliance with departmental policies regarding attendance, behavior, and equipment handling.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in CT imaging. Preferred experience includes more than 5 years, particularly in a Trauma 1 Center.

Certifications / Licensure

• New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Diagnostic Radiography License.
• ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association, obtained within three months of hire.
• ARRT Certified R.T. (CT) license is preferred.
