Summary
The CT Technologist operates computerized tomography scanners to produce cross‑sectional images for diagnostic purposes. The technician prepares and positions patients, ensures proper imaging protocols are followed, collaborates with radiologists to produce high‑quality images, and maintains equipment and patient records while adhering to radiation safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a CT Technologist
- Valid Radiology license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Current ARRT Certification
- Additional certifications and licenses as required for this position
Essential Work Functions
- Operate CT equipment to produce cross‑sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue for diagnostic purposes
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain imaging process, and position patients appropriately
- Set appropriate technical parameters to demonstrate anatomy and pathology accurately
- Provide high‑quality images to Radiologist for interpretation
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies to ensure patient and staff safety
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CT equipment to ensure proper functionality
- Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely diagnostic services
- Adapt to different CT equipment and protocols across various healthcare facilities
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of CT Tech practice

- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Physical abilities: remain stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, bend

- Technical/motor skills: grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, move during procedures and with equipment
- Mental requirements: cope with frequent contact with general public and customers, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision occasionally, handle irregular activity schedules, maintain concentration to detail
