Job summary

Modern Healthcare Solutions seeks a travel CT Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Old Bridge, New Jersey. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs complex CT procedures and ensures quality imaging.
• Review patient history and document in PACS with accuracy.
• Screen and review contrast questionnaires and record in EPIC.
• Administer contrast and perform venipuncture per guidelines.
• Communicate with radiologists to obtain additional information or revised prescriptions.
• Ensure appropriate CT protocols and verify insurance authorization for exams.
• Coordinate scheduling of outside studies and prepare exam copies for patients and physicians.
• Assess radiographs for proper identification and diagnostic value using PACS.
• Prioritize patient safety and adapt protocols to patient needs across development levels.
• Maintain attendance, punctuality, and professional behavior during shifts.

CT Scan Technologist

Job Summary: The Cat Scan Technologist performs computed tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation. This role also assists with interventional and therapeutic procedures.

Essential Job Functions

• Performs complex CT procedures.
• Uses professional judgment to review and obtain patients' clinical histories, ensuring accurate documentation in PACS.
• Prepares, screens, and reviews the accuracy of contrast questionnaires with patients and/or family members, scanning them into EPIC.
• Selects and/or administers contrast media related to CT exams as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Reviews patient prescriptions to verify exam appropriateness; communicates with Radiologists and Referring Physicians to obtain additional information or revised prescriptions when necessary.
• Clarifies prescriptions with physicians in accordance with appropriate CT protocols.
• Verifies insurance authorization for exams and submits necessary documentation for re-verification.
• Obtains outside studies and schedules them in EPIC to ensure availability for Radiologists.
• Prepares exam copies for patients and/or requesting physicians and family members.
• Evaluates radiographs using the PACS system to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value.
• Gathers relevant information from medical records and healthcare providers to prepare scanning protocols, prioritizing patient safety.
• Determines patient preparation for procedures and supports patients during scans, including safety measures such as shielding and immobilization devices.
• Administers contrast and performs venipuncture, ensuring IV patency per established guidelines.
• Monitors patients for adverse reactions during procedures.
• Adheres to policies regarding attendance, punctuality, and professional behavior.
• Maintains physical capability requirements, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended durations.
• Identifies the needs of the patient population served and tailors care accordingly, including communication at the appropriate developmental and educational levels.
• Fulfills work commitments, including weekends and possible overtime as needed for optimal patient care.

Required Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and radiological positioning of the human body.
• Understanding of mechanical attributes of CT software and hardware.
• Thorough knowledge of the PACS system.
• Must maintain CEU credits and achieve ARRT (CT) certification within 12 months of hire.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within three months of hire.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Previous CT experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Epic and any HIS/RIS systems utilized.

Education

• Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Certifications & Licensure

• NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License.
• ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• ARRT certified R.T. (CT) license preferred.

This position requires a dedicated individual who is capable of meeting the demands of a clinical environment while providing exceptional patient care and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.

Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
