Job summary

TotalMed Allied seeks a Certified Respiratory Therapist for a travel assignment in Baton Rouge, LA. The CRT must have 1 year of acute care experience and NBRC-CRT, BLS and ACLS; PALS/NRP may be required in some areas.

The position is 13 weeks long, with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts. The CRT will provide direct patient care across clinical areas, document care, and maintain equipment while coordinating with the care team.

Qualifications

• 1 year of acute care experience required.
• NBRC-CRT certification is required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required; PALS/NRP may be required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory and cardiology modalities to patients.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate and maintain equipment; report malfunctions.
• Perform arterial puncture and analyze samples per guidelines.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and other staff to coordinate care.
• Respond to emergent situations requiring respiratory support.

We're looking for a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) for an immediate travel position opening in Baton Rouge, LA. The right CRT must have 1 year of recent acute care experience. Read below for additional requirements.

As a CRT, you will provide direct patient care to patients in a variety of clinical areas, including evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines.

As a CRT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Administer to patients a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities.
• Maintains appropriate patient records/documentation.
• Cleans, disinfects, assembles, calibrates, maintains respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories. Evaluates equipment for proper and safe function. Reports malfunctions to director.
• Performs arterial puncture and analyzes sample according to procedure guidelines.
• Interacts with co-workers, nurses, physicians, other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care for patient being treated.
• Responds to emergent situations that could require Respiratory support.

Certified Respiratory Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. Respiratory Therapists should be able to easily lift 20 pounds. Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times. Respiratory Therapists must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Must have 1 year of experience. Must have NBRC-CRT,BLS, and ACLS. PALS and NRP may be required in some areas.
