Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Critical Care Float RN for a Magnet, Level I Trauma teaching hospital in Seattle, WA. The role requires 3 years of ICU experience and prior travel nursing experience.

The position involves floating across all CC units, day shifts 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, with every-other-weekend work and no on-call. WA license, BLS/ACLS, and potential TNCC preferred are required.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of critical care experience in a Level I Trauma Center required.
• Recent ICU experience within the last year required.
• Neuro ICU experience plus an additional ICU specialty required (MICU, Trauma ICU, Burn ICU, or CVICU).
• Academic/teaching facility experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required, verified by testing.
• Required skills include ventilator management, IV starts, telemetry, and conscious sedation.
• Preferred skills include ICP monitoring and PA line management.
• References must be from a direct supervisor, not a charge RN.

Responsibilities

• Float across all CC units within scope.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM).
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• No block scheduling accommodations.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Float within scope to meet facility needs across CC units.
• Submit RTO prior to facility submission; no additional RTO after offer.
• Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 major holidays.
• Solid color scrubs accepted; unit provides light blue scrubs.
• UW/Harborview staff must have 18 months separation before returning as traveler.
• Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction.
• First-time travelers not accepted due to experience requirements.
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions.
