Job summary

TotalMed Allied seeks a travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a 13-week assignment in Washington, DC. The OTA will work under an OT to help patients improve daily living skills and functional abilities, with 36 hours per week, 8-hour days.

Requirements include NBCOT COTA certification, BLS, and at least 1 year of OTA experience. State licensure is required. Travel experience is preferred; the role offers travel benefits and support through TotalMed Allied staffing solutions.

Qualifications

• 1 year of OTA experience.
• NBCOT COTA certification is required.
• BLS certification is required; state licensure is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions as directed by the supervising OT.
• Monitor patient progress and report observations to the OT.
• Document patient performance and progress per facility/state guidelines.
• Assist patients with exercises, mobility training, and use of adaptive equipment.
• Educate patients and families on daily living activities.
• Maintain treatment areas and equipment cleanliness and organization.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated care.
• Comply with licensing rules and professional standards.
