Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a VIP Travel Consultant in the United States. You will manage travel for exclusive clients, including executives and entertainment figures, coordinating domestic and international itineraries with a focus on policy compliance and security.

Qualifications

• 3+ years corporate travel experience, incl. fares, ticketing, car, hotel, air, and rail.
• Native GDS expertise: Sabre, Apollo, Amadeus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Attention to detail and integrity in handling traveler information.
• Ability to work in a team and accept feedback.

Responsibilities

• Advise and arrange travel for corporate business customers (US-based) including individuals and groups.
• Research travel options and anticipate traveler needs to upsell services.
• Book domestic and international travel across air, rail, and accommodations.
• Utilize one of our Global Distribution Systems (GDS).
• Ensure compliance with travel policies, provider policies, and regulations.
• Provide courteous service and handle special requests via phone.
• Prevent fraud by following security protocols after hours.
• Collaborate with team to coach and mentor for better service.

What You’ll Do On a Typical Day

• Advise and arrange travel for corporate business customers (both individuals and groups) in the US
• Conduct analysis and research on travel options, and pro-actively anticipate traveler needs to sell additional services
• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel, in a variety of complexity, for air, road, rail, and accommodations
• Use of one of our Global Distribution System's (GDS)
• Ensure compliance to customers’ agreed travel policy, service provider policies, and regulatory requirements
• Use positive telephone service techniques and act on special customer requests
• Prevent fraudulent callers from trying to book trips afterhours by following our security protocols.
• Collaborate within your team to coach, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to improve service levels

What Are We Looking For?

• Passion for excellence in client service, including proactive anticipation of needs
• Native GDS expertise (Sabre, Apollo, Amadeus)
• 3 + years corporate travel experience, including fares, ticketing, car, hotel, air, and rail for domestic and international travel.
• Excellent professional communication (written and verbal)

• Resolving customer issues quickly and independently / with supplier

The US national base salary range for this position is from

$46,200.00 - $85,800.00

The national range provided includes the base salary that Amex GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
