Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a skilled CNC machinist for a contract role based in Jacksonville, FL. The project runs 6-9 months with travel to Peoria, IL and requires 50+ hours per week on 2nd or 3rd shift, performing gear cutting and precision machining.

Candidates should have 5+ years of CNC experience, familiarity with Siemens or Fanuc controls, and the ability to read blueprints and setup sheets while maintaining safe, organized work areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience.
• Experience with gear cutting.
• Proficiency with Siemens and/or Fanuc controls.
• Ability to set up and operate CNC equipment, perform tool changes, and measure parts.
• Read blueprints and setup instructions, maintain safe, organized work area.
• Willing to work overtime (50+ hours/week).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC grinders, hobbs, shapers, drills, and related equipment.
• Use Siemens or Fanuc controls to run operations and adjust as needed.
• Inspect finished parts with hand gauges; support CMM inspections; perform deburring.
• Read blueprints and work instructions to guide manufacturing.
