Job summary

The West Virginia Department of Health Facilities is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants and Patient Care Technicians for its State Facility Travel Program. This role involves delivering high-quality direct care under RN supervision in a psychiatric/forensic state hospital, with travel between facilities as needed.

Qualified CNAs receive the $35/hour rate; others at $30/hour with a $5 geographic pay differential.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistants must be certified or registered as a Nursing Assistant or Nurse Aide in West Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care: assume daily responsibility for the physical care of residents.
• Perform basic nursing/technical skills following Nursing Department policies.
• Collaborate with residents/patients, families, nursing staff and other departments.
• Communicate treatment information and observations to the appropriate personnel and document per Nursing Department policies.
• Support Nursing Services and ensure compliance with all rules and regulations.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

CNA certification or registration in West Virginia
