Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: This is a working manager position responsible for the overall growth and profitability of the bank's travel club, Connect Club. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and escorting a variety of trips throughout the year, including day-long, overnight and/or multi-nights, as well as extended domestic and international trips while ensuring the members enjoy a high-quality experience. This role is also responsible for planning and hosting various free activities for members to increase engagement with and satisfaction of Connect Club members.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • ACCOUNTABILITY 1: Plan and accompany members on a variety of trips, including domestic and international destinations. Work with travel partners in selecting and preparing trip itineraries and travel details, with approval from VP, Marketing. Coordinate trip preview shows in effort to gain member interest. As the group's travel escort, provide directions, instructions, and attend to any unanticipated needs that may arise while traveling.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY 2: Ensures growth in membership and overall profit of the Connect Club while maximizing every opportunity to connect with Club members. Writes quarterly Connections e-newsletter to keep members informed about upcoming trips, seminars, movie days, and other club-related news.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY 3: Plan and coordinate free activities for members, including a summer and winter appreciation party and movie days.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY 4: Budget and track the profitability of each trip. Record, track, and follow up on reservations, cancellations, payments, refunds, and any insurance claims. Make deposits, pay invoices, reconcile the G/L account monthly, and submit monthly credit card expenses for payment. Provide a monthly report summarizing club activities, income, and expenses.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY 5: Provide quality, personalized service in establishing relationships with club members. Answer questions, take reservations, provide travel advice, send cards, and assist with required forms and documentation.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY 6: Maintain a database of members. Qualify new members and send welcome packets, delete members who no longer qualify, update addresses, and run periodic reports to ensure database is up-to-date.

SECONDARY:

  • Refer customers to other bank service areas based on customer needs or inquiries.
  • Hosts all travel shows and document parties.
  • Notify Deposit Maintenance Department of travelers for debit card travel notifications.
  • Keep in touch with Club members and ensure they enjoy the events, activities and trips they attend.
  • Stay current on the travel industry and top destinations.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 5+ years customer service experience.
  • Group travel coordination experience preferred.
  • Ability to think on your feet, take action, and make decisions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Word and Excel.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Courteous and professional.
  • Enjoys spending time with seniors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally and travel approximately 20% per year.
  • Ability to travel via different modes of transportation (air, bus, rail, boat).
  • Exposed to a variety of environmental conditions, including temperature changes.
  • Talking and hearing to convey spoken instructions & receive detailed information.
