Job summary

Stepful is seeking a Sterile Processing Clinical and Lab Instructor to teach a 3-week Sterile Processing Technician program in St. Louis, MO. This 1099 contract role requires in-person instruction, with travel and lodging support for non-local instructors.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years teaching sterile processing and hold Sterile Processing Technician Certification. Instructors will work 30-40 hours per week and earn $40.00/hour.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience teaching sterile processing.
• 3+ years of experience as a certified Sterile Processing Technician in a clinical setting.
• Experience with course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising.

Responsibilities

• Teach hands-on skills in an in-person lab setting.
• Demonstrate proper technique and provide live step-by-step tasks for students.
• Assess students’ lab and clinical competency and provide feedback.
• Review and evaluate the required skills students must demonstrate.
• Communicate regularly with students via email and other tools.

The opportunity

We are looking for a highly accomplished Sterile Processing Clinical and Lab Instructor to teach our 3-week Sterile Processing Technician program in St. Louis. Stepful’s programs are designed to support students at every step of the way, from getting certified by the CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) to finding high-quality healthcare jobs.

This is a 1099 contract role that requires in-person instruction, so candidates are ideally local to the program site (St. Louis, MO) or willing to travel for the duration of the course. Travel and lodging support is available for instructors who are not local to the program site.

What you’ll do

• Teach hands-on skills to students in an in-person lab setting

• Demonstrate proper technique for a given skill and provide live step by step tasks for students to perform

• Assess students’ lab and clinical competency for skills and provide feedback

• Review and evaluate the required skills students must demonstrate

• Communicate regularly with students over email and other communication tools

• Join weekly meetings to receive guidance and direction from the internal team at Stepful

• Provide ongoing support, troubleshoot issues, and prepare and plan for future modules, as needed

What you’ll bring

• 3+ years of experience teaching sterile processing, with knowledge of course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising

• 3+ years of experience working as a certified Sterile Processing Technician at a clinical setting

• Sterile Processing Tech Certification

• Experience with digital tools for teaching and reading lesson plans

• Experience teaching students of diverse backgrounds and abilities

• Stellar writing and communication skills

• Ability to work 30 - 40 hours per week

The hourly pay rate for this opportunity is $40.00/hour. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, internal pay equity and other relevant business considerations.
