Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a travel Certified Surgical Technologist for a high-acuity Level I trauma OR assignment in Kansas City, Kansas. You will support surgeons across orthopedic and general cases, maintaining sterile fields and handing instrumentation in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires CST with NBSTSA, BLS, and 3+ years of OR experience, plus travel flexibility and on-call coverage as needed. This travel position features 4x10s, 13 weeks, and paid travel benefits.

Qualifications

• CST (NBSTSA) with OR minimum 3 years of experience.
• BLS (AHA) certification.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Surgical Tech experience (or 3 years in lieu of certification).
• Level I trauma experience.
• Strong orthopedic surgery experience.
• Travel experience with flexible assignments is preferred.

Quick Glance

What You’ll Do

• Assist surgeons during a wide range of operative procedures
• Maintain sterile field and ensure proper instrumentation and supplies
• Anticipate surgical team needs and provide efficient intraoperative support
• Prepare and handle surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies
• Collaborate with OR staff to ensure safe, effective patient care

Case Mix

• Orthopedic (strong experience required)
• Trauma and general surgery
• GYN, urology, and plastics
• Robotic (DaVinci) procedures
• Neuro spine and complex head & neck cases
• Exploratory laparotomy (ex-lap) cases

Schedule & Details

• 4x10 day shifts (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday)
• On-call required (up to 6 shifts per 13-week assignment)
• Floating required across multiple ORs
• Holiday coverage required if it falls on scheduled days

Must-Have Credentials

• CST (NBSTSA) OR minimum 3 years of Surgical Tech experience
• BLS (AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Surgical Tech experience (or 3 years in lieu of certification)
• Level I trauma experience
• Strong orthopedic surgery experience

Preferred Experience

• Previous travel experience
