RRT NICU

We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a focus in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This position requires expertise in caring for patients on mechanical ventilation, as well as proficiency in pediatric critical care protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation for an average daily census of 6-10 patients.
• Perform respiratory interventions including endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, and airway management.
• Conduct pulmonary toileting and ABG interpretation.
• Provide care to patients with tracheostomies and assist with sputum specimen collection.
• Collaborate with the medical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes in critical care settings.

Experience and Qualifications

Work Schedule and Availability

• Must work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, New Years Eve & New Years Day.
• Weekend shifts are required as needed; travelers are not expected to work more than 3 consecutive weekends.
• Available assignments are for a minimum of 10 weeks; a break of 6 months is required after completing 4 consecutive assignments or reaching one year of service.

Additional Information

• Travelers may float to adult RRT units as needed.
• Requests for time off longer than 7 days require prior approval.
• This position guarantees 36 hours of work per week, with the potential for call-offs up to 3 times during a 13-week assignment.
