POSITION OVERVIEW
Job Summary

Responsible for providing, under the direction of an occupational therapist, therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards. Demonstrates accountability for and contributes to program development, quality improvement, problem solving, and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary environment.

Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Provides therapeutic interventions as directed by the occupational therapist in campus locations, home health, and/or outpatient care.
  2. Travels to other locations, including overnight stays, within a designated territory.
  3. Evaluates patient response to treatment and provides feedback to the team.
  4. Documents patient care, including progress and ongoing needs for treatment.
  5. Collaborates with the occupational therapist to develop new educational methods for patients and families.
  6. Assists in providing team members with in-service or cross-training on occupational therapy skills as needed.
  7. Contributes to delivering cost-effective care.
  8. Reports resident complaints and grievances to the Rehab Program Director or Director of Health Services.
  9. Reports incidents or suspected incidents of resident abuse immediately.
  10. Complies with all resident rights policies.
  11. Maintains professional competencies and skills.
  12. Participates in survey preparation activities.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate Degree
  • Experience: 0-1 years
Physical Requirements

Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, residents, family, visitors, vendors, and external associates.
