Position Description

A nursing assistant responsible for providing routine nursing care according to established policies and procedures, under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator, to ensure the highest quality of resident care at all times.

Qualifications
  • Licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience as a CNA or clinical experience during certification training.
  • Genuine desire to serve the ill, aged, and infirm.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, families, visitors, and the public.
  • Willingness to work harmoniously with others.
  • Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, with the ability to handle residents at various maturity levels.
  • Good health and emotional stability.
  • Ability to work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, or hostile individuals.
General Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform all duties as assigned, following facility policies, nursing procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Make resident rounds at the start of each shift and every two hours to provide quality care.
  • Verify resident identity before providing care or serving food to ensure appropriate treatment.
  • Report missing ID bands immediately.
  • Make beds, clean bedside and overbed tables.
  • Ensure water pitchers are clean, filled with fresh water, and within residents' reach.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
